Brotherly Love- Temecula/Murrieta Children's Photographer

A little over a year ago we got new neighbors across the street. I was very pregnant and I noticed that my new neighbor was pregnant and had a 2 year old son also! How awesome is that?!? Not only did we both have boys about the same age but we were both pregnant with boys again! And not only were we pregnant with boys but we delivered them on the same day!

I was waiting for the day that my friend Kendra would ask me to photograph her boys. Between Tommy walking super fast for his age and David just being a toddler, I had to bring my A game. Kendra and I tried music, noises, hide and seek, reverse psychology, etc. In the end, I captured some memorable moments that will definitely be treasured!

Griffin's 3 year Session

You may remember my post about Griffin turning three two weeks ago. I took him out last week and did a three year session! Trust me when I say, I know that photographing your own children is difficult. Photographing your own THREE year old is even harder. You have to get creative in keeping them still and keeping them interested. You may notice m&m's in the photo with his little brother...he wouldn't let go of them so I just let him have the container. I still love the photo though! I definitely got some great photos of him that will be going up in our house! :)

It is true. It's my birthday! One year from today I will 30, which is ridiculous to think about. In my head, I feel like I just graduated from high school last year :) But they say your 30's are better, right? Well, that's what I'm going with! I really have been blessed with a great life and amazing family. I feel very lucky and fortunate. I'm married to an incredible man, I have two amazing little boys, and two dream job as a mom and photographer.

My Baby is THREE!

THREE years ago, I went through crazy labo/delivery and in the end I gave birth to the most handsome little boy via c-section. The last three years have been the best and most challenging years of my life as a mother. Griffin is very handsome, charismatic, charming, smart, loving, strong-willed, opinionated, the best big brother, and the best son ever. As my husband always says, he is one of a kind and there is no one out there like him:)

I see big things and big changes for Griffin over the next year, which makes me totally excited and totally bummed at the same time. I want him to stay a little boy but his growing body, including his size 11 feet, are making it impossible. He is at the age where naps are now a past time (boo) and he wants to do everything....I repeat EVERYTHING....on his own.

Griffin, though you are a crazy toddler and at times I want to pull my hair out because of your lack of a nap, I love you more than cookies. When I tell him I love him more than cookies, he usually tells me he loves me more than poop...I guess something is better than nothing:)

This is Part 1 of Cannon's 6 month photo session. I can't believe it. He is growing up and changing so fast that it is hard to believe. Before I know it, he will be ONE. Now that is just crazy talk! And I don't think I'm ready for that. I won't ever get this stage back...and that makes me sad. But at the same time I am excited to see his progression!

As many of you know, Cannon is my little side kick. He goes everywhere with me...mostly because he cries uncontrollably if I am not holding him or away from him for more than ten minutes. But I love it, most of the time. A special thank you to all of my clients who are understanding when he has been present at your photo sessions! I have the best clients (friends), really.

Being a Mom...

For me, aside from the exhaustion and day to day challenges of having a toddler and a baby, being a mom is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. The love I have for my boys is like no other love I have ever felt before. I had the pleasure of photographing Marshall and Cat's maternity session last weekend at Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills. They are going to be first time parents to a little boy at the end of October. There are so many emotions that go along with having your first baby. When you see and hold your baby for the first time, you will realize that the huge belly, crazy hormones, and swollen feet were all worth it in the end. Nothing is better than being a parent. It is the most challenging and rewarding "job" you will ever have!

This session was special to me because Liam is my newest nephew and my sister Heather's first baby! He is definitely a combination of his mommy and daddy. Unfortunately, his dad is in Afghanistan with the Navy and he was not able to be there for the birth. So for now, these photos should help! Cannon is 3 months old!

I cannot believe that it has already been 3 months old. Actually, he is 3 1/2 months now but it has taken me a couple of weeks to actually get these photos up. Cannon may still be small for his age but he is growing like a weed. He loves to smile and he loves to cry....it's actually more like a scream that makes you want to pull your hair out. Even though he likes to workout his lungs, he is a precious little angel. When I watch him sleeping, I quickly forget the bad moments. And how could you resist his stunningly blue eyes? We are also in the beginning stages of teething...lots of drooling, hand eating, and runny noses. Let the fun begin! :)

This session holds a special place in my heart. My sister is pregnant with her first child and he should be arriving in August! Did you know that I am the oldest of 4 girls? I am. Though while growing up, Heather always acted like the oldest. She always worried about everyone and everything...and somehow I always ended up doing her chores. Now I get to be the real big sister. I have already been through two pregnancies, both being boys. Her husband will be away in Afghanistan during the birth and first year of little Liam...I hope these maternity photos and soon to be newborn photos will help him feel like he is apart of it all :)

I remember the first time I was pregnant and how excited my husband and I were. We were nervous and scared for the unknown but we were also excited about our future family. Christy and Chad are going to be great parents. They were so much fun to work with! Christy, just remember to nap when the baby naps and take it day by day. For the first couple of months you will be in survival mode and then from there it gets easier :)

On March 18th, five days before planned, Cannon entered the world via c-section. I was already planned to have a c-section but Cannon decided he wanted to come when he was ready...early:) I went in for my pre-op appointment and discovered that I was already 4cm dilated and 80% effaced! I was prepared and not prepared at the same time...at least I had already packed my bags at home in case something like this was to happen.

Our little bundle of joy entered the world perfectly healthy. I feel so blessed!

What a great way to go into my maternity leave, with a Maternity Session! On the day of the session, the weather was fantastic! The fields were nice and green from all of the rain, which I love...

On to the parents to be...Jennifer and Joey are two of the nicest and most genuine people I have met. I'm not exaggerating either. They REALLY are! So when they chose me to do their maternity session, I was so excited to work with them! Jennifer has the most adorable little pregnant belly and she was glowing. I can't wait to meet their little girl in a couple of months!

Lauren- Temecula Newborn Photographer

While her family patiently awaited her arrival on her due date, Little Miss Lauren was just comfortable and warm right where she was at in her mommy's womb...One week late, she entered the world at 9lbs 5 oz! Would you have known that her mom had a 9lb baby in her? Nope! She looked great before the delivery and now she doesn't even look like she was ever pregnant...jealous:) And to top it all off, I was told that Lauren is a great sleeper...jealous again! I only pray that my baby #2 is a good sleeper because Griffin was not for the most part.

Cutest Kid Contest Winner Session

For those of you who participated in the Cutest Kid Contest a few weeks back, you will remember this cute little girl. She was the winner of the mini-session! When I asked her mom where she would want to do the photo session, she said church. Ellie feels most comfortable and loves being at church, which I thought was so sweet. So that's where we did it and she did great! Eating skittles and promises of a blue slurpee are always good incentives when photographing a toddler:)

Photographing a two year old toddler is challenging...even your own child. Especially when there are areas of the location that they can run and explore in. But that's the fun of it right? My son just turned TWO years old. I still can't believe it has been two years! Time flies by so much quicker when you have kids. I have been trying to hold on to all of the little moments we have together because soon he will be 18...and then 25...and then 30...and then I will be REALLY old:) I don't even want to think about it!

As the end of the year approaches, I reflect on all of the amazing photo sessions and clients that I have had the opportunity to work with. I had a hard time picking my top 10 favorite photos because there are soooooo many great ones!

'Tis The Season for Specials!

I know it's the holiday season and you are all running around like mad people, trying to get all of your holiday shopping done on time but, let's think ahead for one moment. The New Year is approaching quickly folks so let's start it off the right way...with a photo session!

I am offering a SPECIAL for the month of January 2011. If you book a full photo session for January 2011 (the session has to take place during that month), I am offering 20% off of your session fee! I know, CRAZY! You may be asking yourself, "Why is Amanda offering such a great deal?" I know I would:) I will be on maternity leave starting mid-February, getting ready to welcome our second boy into the world!

The first time I saw Elizabeth at the hospital, I fell in love...Six months later, she is cuter than ever! Not to mention, she has a FULL head of gorgeous hair. Her mom tried putting a crochet hat on her head and I said no way! Besides her adorable little face, her hair is her signature. I don't know of any other baby girl with so a great head of hair!

This session was so much fun! For a split second it made me want to try for baby #3 some day, to see if we would get a girl...and then I woke up! I will just have to adopt Lizzy and take her shopping when I need my girl fix:)

I can't wait for her 1 year session in May!

I grew up as the oldest of FOUR girls. Yep, that's right. FOUR girls. It was fun and crazy at the same time. I had no experience raising or being around boys, other than my father (aka a big kid). Then I became a mother to the most handsome, funny, and intelligent little boy. He truly is wonderful and I am so lucky to be his mama:) I only have a few months left until he is no longer an only child, which makes me sad and excited at the same time. He will be such a great big brother and I can't wait to see my two boys interact!

We all have our firsts...this was my first photo shoot with a family pet. Rusty was very cooperative and adorable! The Spiegel family was also wonderful to work with :) Little Cameron is 9 months old and he is taking a couple of steps on his own already. My son Griffin was the same age last year and we took our family holiday pictures at the same location so, it brought back many memories for me. Time flies by so fast with children, which as a mother, is good and sad at the same time!

The weather was perfect for this shoot! The Purcell's are such a cute little family! My family has a lot in common with the Purcell family but to name just a couple of things...Jack and Griffin (my son) are only about one month apart in age and Megan and I are both pregnant! She is due at the end of January (the month Griffin was born) and I am due at the end of March (the month Jack was born). Doesn't she look great pregnant?!? :)

A heat wave in November?!? Yes, we are in one but thankfully it is almost over...and hopefully it will not return until next summer! The Van Wick's were troopers in the 90+ degree weather during this photo shoot out in the Temecula Wine Country. We had fun trying to figure out ways for Asher to look somewhere near the camera...boys will be boys! They are awesome people to be around and a beautiful family at that!

A Case of the Mondays...

This intense heat is killing me! I love warm weather but not 90+ degrees. It is really hard to entertain an almost 18 month old rambunctious boy, inside all day without us both going stir crazy. With that said...

I have a new found love for sidewalk chalk...in particular the crayola sidewalk crayons. They are softer than your normal sidewalk chalk, which makes them easier to write with for a toddler and a mom:) But beware, it is a little messier than regular sidewalk chalk.

I have introduced Griffin to play dough but he is not a huge fan yet. I am hesitant to start on finger painting...

It's time to celebrate! Kai is turning the big O-N-E at the end of this month! He was already to go with his little Hawaiian outfit and his curly hair. That is until I got too close to him...he didn't like that too much:) Eventually peek-a-boo worked and mommy singing songs to him! He has the cutest little dimples, especially the one in his right cheek. I had a great time with this little guy and his family!

Every moment with our children is precious. They really do grow up FAST and I didn't realize that until I had my son. Have I ever mentioned that having a boy ROCKS?!?! Well it does:)

He let me know when he was not happy in a particular position and I learned quickly that he would be most happy swaddled or in mommy's arms. I always forget how small newborns are until I get to hold one again. Isaiah is small with a full head of hair, which I love!

Meet the Percaccio Family! I was honored to do Breanna's maternity photo shoot. They are the cutest little family, anxiously waiting for baby #2! You could really feel the love between all three of them, which I think shows in the photos. And to top it all off, Breanna is a gorgeous at 8 months pregnant! I only wish I had looked that good when I was 8 months pregnant...I was a whale. Seriously!

Meet the Smith Family! You can feel the love between all of them, which is truly wonderful. I have known Anne (mom) since junior year of high school...I have many great memories of note passing in physics about boys and concerts! Those were the days! NINE years later, Anne is married with two gorgeous little girls. Where did the time go? When did we get old?

The photo shoot was a blast! The girls loved the sand and water...their wet and sandy clothes were proof but, they were having fun! It was so great to see how Jeff and Anne interacted with one another and with their children.
